First day  blogging. I was inspired by so many who share their projects and love of what they do on Pinterest, so I thought I give it a try. I hope you'll enjoy seeing my projects, photos, and stories and that you'll come back and follow along.

The name Unraveled comes from my love of crocheting. I recently started making a few projects from
" re-purposed" yarn. So many times I've gone through thrift stores, flea markets, and yard sales and picked up a vintage or used sweater and loved the feel of the yarn. I always wondered why I could never find anything like it to use on my many projects, or when I did the cost was just way out of my league. So if finally dawned on me to unravel these old treasures and re-purpose the yarn into something else. It takes a little while and some patience to unravel a sweater, but I just love the results I get using it. I also enjoy rummaging through the racks of our local thrift stores in search of just the right color and feel. The thrift stores are also a great place to find bags of yarn that other's no longer want at a great price. My DH refers to it as dead people's yarn :-) . Below is a throw I made from re-purposed yarn. I've always wanted a 100% cotton thrown. This is a brown/tan twist that came out soft and cozy. I bought the size 3X Men's sweater on the clearance rack for $1 at our local Gabriel Brothers store.
